Our 300' pool is located at the Audrey Moore Rec Center in Annandale, Virginia. Our ACA-certified instructors are mature, professional kayaking EXPERTS that are highly experienced in the art of teaching the kayak roll. Our proprietary teaching progression is in a class by itself and really breaks the roll down into separate steps that you can understand and execute more quickly. In addition to expert instruction, you'll also get to meet other great paddlers! Make sure your kayak is properly outfitted!
Don't want to drive to Virginia? Our students come to our pool from as far as Baltimore, Richmond, the Eastern Shore and Ohio. Why? Because we offer the best instruction in an amazing facility. We promise to make it worth your while!


Indoor/Outdoor Lesson Package

Start your whitewater kayaking career this winter by learning the fundamentals in the comfort of our 300' heated pool. You'll get two 2-hour pool lessons this winter, followed by three outdoor lessons (Courses 2-4 of our Beginner Whitewater Package). You have up to two years to complete all five courses, and during the Spring, Summer, and Fall you can practice at our free weekly practice nights. All equipment is provided! Bombproof Rolling Package

If you need to learn tips on how to roll a kayak, or want to learn new rolls, our Bombproof Roll Package is GUARANTEED to do the trick! Our Bombproof Package includes three 2-hour indoor rolling lessons. We teach the sweep, twisting sweep, c-to-c, hand, and back deck rolls. Our unique progression breaks down each roll into separate components that you can practice individually and then put together. Our low student-to-instructor ratio of 5:1 gives you plenty of personal attention during each lesson, with instructors spending most of their time standing in the water next to you. There is no better way to "bombproof" your roll for Spring! All classes held at the Audrey Moore Rec Center.

2-Hour Rolling Lesson

If your budget allows for only one rolling lesson this winter, ours is the one to come to. Our American Canoe Association certified instructors are mature, professional kayaking experts who have taught hundreds of students how to roll a kayak. Instructors will spend most of their time standing in the water next to you as they guide you through our unique teaching progression. No matter what roll you want to learn (sweep, twisting sweep, c-to-c, hand, or back deck), we'll break each one down into separate components that you can learn and practice individually.

Student Practice Sessions

Current Potomac Paddlesports students and alumni can attend our 2-hour indoor practice sessions for a discounted rate. Come practice, keep your skills sharp over the winter, and meet other paddlers in our amazing Olympic-sized heated pool! Be sure to leave time after the session for a social dinner across the street!

Are you an experienced kayaker just looking for some pool time and perhaps a new paddling buddy? Our Public Practice Nights offer you two hours of pool time for $25.
