"Level 1" Beginner Lesson Package

Our "Level 1 Package" gives you two years to master whitewater kayaking at your own pace, and all without owning your own gear! We'll develop your skills methodically over the course of four classes and weekly practice nights. Take the classes at your leisure over a two-year period, during which time you can hone your skills and make new friends at the weekly practice nights. All equipment is provided (and it's all brand new each season). Our friendly, non-intimidating approach has helped make us the top whitewater program in the region, and many of our students claim that this was their best decision since moving to DC!

Whitewater Fundamentals Lesson

Not ready to commit to the entire package? We understand that some students are tight on funds or curious to see if they'll even like the sport. Our five-hour Whitewater Fundamentals lesson is a fun-filled, professionally coached kayaking lesson on flat water. We've eliminated much of the technical jargon so we can focus on comfort in the boat, comfort underwater, and rolling the kayak. By learning these skills in flatwater, you'll gain confidence and learn faster. And don't worry: if the class ends and you find yourself wishing you'd signed up for the entire package, we make it easy to upgrade.

Upgrade to Beginner Lesson Package

This is for students who only signed up for the Whitewater Fundamentals class and want to upgrade to the full "Level 1" Beginner Lesson Package. You'll get courses 2-4 of the package, two indoor rolling lessons, plus free weekly practice nights, post-practice social events, free equipment rentals, and access to a friendly group of paddling buddies who are also just starting out.
